Too Faced Shadow Insurance Candlelight

I have always been completely obsessed with anything that could add shimmer, glimmer or shine to my skin. Probably because I fall victim to extremely dry skin and highlighting products instantly bring my skin back to life.

I recently dove into a sample of the Too Faced Shadow Insurance Candlelight. At first I wasn't really sure how if I would like it. The idea of a eyeshadow primer that had a metallic sheen to it wasn't something I was overly excited about....at FIRST. As I started playing around with it I found that I really do like this product.

This golden metallic anti-crease eye primer packs a punch. This silky formula is very pigmented and effortless glides onto the lid. I refuse to work with an eye primer that makes you tug at your eye to blend it in. I am sure you will all agree.

I was also pleasantly surprised to find out after doing some reading that you can not only use it as a eyeshadow primer, but you can wear it on it's own for one of those 'no makeup' makeup days. It creates a beautiful sheen that really brightens up the eye area.

I was worried about how it would be able to preform as a primer with all the other bells and whistles added to it. Could it keep my eyeshadow from creasing? When put to the test it really does keep shadows from creasing and keeps the eyeshadow in place for the duration of the day. It also adds some extra bling underneath any eyeshadow I paired with it. Always a bonus, especially this time of year.

I would highly recommend this as a product to pick up for the summer, because of it's pretty metallic sheen and because it's a two in one product capabilities. I think this would also be a great product in general for those who have a darker eye area, this primer would definitely perk up the eye area.

What do you use for an eye primer? Would you try this product?

  6. I love the color on this primer, but I've found that the Too Faced primers tend to get a little watery after a while. Of course, the Urban Decay ones get too dry after a while, so I don't know what the best route would be formula-wise. I absolutely love colored primers, though!
