With their headquarters located in New York they have branched into 6 retail locations and 9 showrooms. Warby Parker provides quality eye wear at a portion of the price. Believing that non prescription/prescription fashion eye wear (including sunglasses) should not come at a high price. They describe their eye wear as "vintage inspired with a contemporary twist" and I have to say I agree.
Today being trendy doesn't just stop with a great bag and a killer pair of heels. Being trendy means pulling it all together-including some statement eye wear. Since I post quite frequently about fashion or fashion accessories it was a perfect fit to feature some great fashion eye wear that just so happens to be affordable. Affordable fashion? Who doesn't love that?
Yet it was something unexpected that made me want to share their story. It is because they are doing something inspiring and that does not have a price tag. With every pair of glasses purchased at Warby Parker, they donate a pair to someone in need. Nearly 1 billion people are in need of prescription eye glasses and do not have access. That means 15% of the world's population is living day to day and not being able to see at their full potential. So Warby Parker has partnered with non-profits to distribute prescription glasses to those in need- having distributed over 500,000 pairs.
